Asher Opoku-Fordjour has been withdrawn from England’s bench for their clash with Argentina in Santiago del Estero because of concussion.

Opoku-Fordjour failed a HIA after taking a head knock in training so George Kloska returns to the replacements as tighthead prop cover after making his debut against Fiji last Saturday.

Kloska has had a reduced training load this week due to a tight back but is fit enough to participate in the final fixture of England’s July tour.

Opoku-Fordjour, the Sale front row who covers both sides of the scrum, was set to make his first appearance in Argentina since being the target of racial abuse by a small group of Pumas fans in San Juan last year.

England captain Jamie George revealed on Friday that he could lead his team off the pitch if there is a recurrence of the discrimination that was also directed at Chandler Cunningham-South.

What action will be taken in the event of a repeat incident had yet to be confirmed as of Friday evening.

Vice captain Ollie Chessum said: “It’s important that we support our teammates and look after our friends. What happened last year was terrible and we don’t want a repeat of that.

“But I’m extremely hopeful that something like that doesn’t happen. The stadium is an awesome place to play and at our hotel there were Argentinian fans who had been waiting to see us all morning.”
