Hannah Botterman Bio

Born on 8 June 1999, Hannah Botterman started her rugby-playing career with Datchworth RFC, where many members of her family played. After eight years with the club, she moved to Welwyn RFC.

At the age of just 18, Hannah Botterman made her debut for Saracens Women. She was instrumental almost immediately and played a vital role as Saracens claimed back-to-back titles.

However, despite being hugely successful with the club, in 2023, Hannah Botterman decided to leave Saracens and sign for Bristol Bears Women. She’s stayed with the club ever since.

Although she’s undoubtedly been a star on the domestic stage, Hannah Botterman has saved her best performances for England. After representing the side at U18 and U20 level, she made her full international debut in 2017. Ever since, she’s been an integral member of the squad and has amassed more than 50 caps.

During her international career so far, she’s won Grand Slams in the Six Nations and has represented her country at two Rugby World Cups (2021 and 2025). Botterman was part of the England squad that won Rugby World Cup 2025. Her turnovers and powerful scrummaging were crucial to their win.

Still young and with many of her best years ahead of her, we can’t wait to see what else Hannah Botterman can achieve in the game.
