Ellie Boatman Bio
Ellie Boatman was born on 13 May 1997. She started playing rugby in Camberley at the tender age of four.
Despite her young age, Ellie Boatman’s talents for the sport were obvious. As a result, at the age of 11, she started playing junior rugby for London Irish. However, she then chose to take a brief hiatus from the sport before playing again at the University of Southampton and for a local Hampshire side Trojans RFC.
Following this, Boatman enjoyed spells at Saracens and Richmond before signing for Wasps in 2020. Then, in the 2022-23 season, she featured for Harlequins in the Premier 15s. The following year, she signed for Trailfinders Women, where she’s stayed ever since.
Due to the standard of her domestic performances, Boatman has received international recognition. She first played for England sevens in 2022 and made her sevens debut with Great Britain the following year. She’s played internationally in the Commonwealth Games, the Olympic Games and the Rugby World Cup Sevens.
Still very much in the prime of her career, we can’t wait to see what else Ellie Boatman can achieve in the game.
