2025 Pacific Nations Cup Format

The format of the 2025 Pacific Nations Cup sees the six teams split into two zones: a Southern Hemisphere and Pacific Islands pool featuring traditional rivals Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, and a Northern Hemisphere North Pacific Rim group containing North American rivals Canada and the United States, alongside Japan.

In the pool phase, each team plays a single round robin within its pool. Then, the top two teams in each pool move into the semi-finals, which are inter-zonal. Meanwhile, the team that finishes at the bottom of each pool plays in an inter-zonal tie to decide who finishes in 5th and 6th place.

In the semi-finals, the Pool A winner plays the runner-up in Pool B. Meanwhile, the winner of Pool B plays the runner-up in Pool A. The two winners then progress to the Grand Final, while the losers face each other in the Bronze Final.

The 2025 Pacific Nations Cup is particularly important, as the top three teams (outside of Fiji and Japan who have already qualified), will qualify for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

With so much on the line and so many possible permutations, it’s more important than ever to track all of the Pacific Nations Cup results in 2025. Thankfully, all the information you need is right here on this page. So, remember to check back regularly.
