Zimbabwe's Edward Sigauke lands PREM move after starring in Nations Cup

Harlequins boss Jason Gilmore has made a late pre-season signing, snapping up Zimbabwe international winger Edward Sigauke, who will arrive at the Twickenham Stoop next week.
Sigauke, a product of Lomagundi College, has won 12 caps for his country and scored eight tries since his international debut two years ago. He was a key member of the squad that lifted back-to-back Africa Cup titles.
He is regarded as one of the exciting young wingers to emerge from Zimbabwean rugby in recent years and joins Harry Johnson-Holmes, George Furbank, James Dun and Sampie Swiegers in signing for the club this summer.

“Eddie is a player we’ve been tracking, and we’re really pleased to get his signing over the line. He’s got tremendous speed and footwork that makes him a real handful for any defence, and we believe he’s got all the raw tools to become a weapon for us out wide.
“What excites us most is his potential – he’s still developing as a player, and we can’t wait to see how he grows within our environment as he takes the next steps in his career,” said Quins boss Jason Gilmore.
Sigauke, who helped fire Emeris University to Varsity Shield glory in 2025, admits that he is excited to get the chance to shine in South-West London and believes Quins will suit the way he wants to play.
“I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to join Harlequins and everything that comes with it. I can’t wait to get started, to push myself both as a player and person within this squad.
“Adding value to the jersey means a lot to me – it’s not just about my own performance, it’s about contributing to something bigger and helping the team achieve what we’re capable of.
“I’ve spent time speaking with Gilly (Jason Gilmore) and I’m really bought into the brand of rugby he wants to build – it’s ambitious, it’s exciting, and it’s a style that suits how I want to play.
“This is a new chapter for me, and I want to make the most of it – working hard every day, learning from the players and coaches around me,” he said.
