That was me! They definitely did, as a rugby fan I’m sure you know the rules very well. From memory the AB’s closed the gap illegally a lot against SA which wasn’t called, allowing them to steal a lot of lineout ball for example. Then against Australia again from memory there was a maul collapse at a crucial time which wasn’t one then Tom Hooper clearly showed a release before getting onto the ball which was called a no clear release. A bit like Ardie Savea’s against SA in the 2023 final.

Of course, these things happen and it’s little details but they definitely helped New Zealand in my view!

So for you the Codie Taylor one shouldn’t have been a yellow? For me it was clear, blatant cheating and even Scott Barrett said it was fair as he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. It’s just unusual because it’s not caught by the TMO often.

When you say injuries for the England test, which ones specifically? Jordie Barrett? I would argue that the team was quite strong, based on how those players who had come into the team had performed prior to that test. The only player I would say in the starting lineup who didn’t really perform well all season but was picked was Billy Proctor. The only player I would say who perhaps wasn’t in good form in terms of international level and had limited chances was Sam Darry.

To be fair, I don’t think they were required, I would be surprised if Schmidt asked any of them to be available, and I am sure they will zoom in at different times to team meetings etc.

Many referees? I’m not sure what you’re used to by normally referees normally yellow card slap downs like when Carter tried to offload after his break, and don’t bin for innocuous hands in the ruck. They were two of the most unusual decisions of the year.

Many people are unable to quantify that the All Blacks had the ascendancy and momentum in Wellington, until they didn’t. But I agree, that would have only papered over what became apparent. In London it was also far more about the injuries and their resultant lack of scoring execution that swung it Englands way.

Beauden? He should do, his Vice brother and recent Leinsterman probably has a lot to with the designing of this years new backline play. He should also have the experience to know when to play what’s in front of him.

Yes because I’m in a thread about making him disappear doesn’t mean I would, I was just slightly evolving Erics idea of his selfworth. As far as you post goes I personally think he’s probably had his best year as a 10.

Agree with a lot of this, just not certain the will is there east of the Severn to bring it about. Think the immediate priority is for the WRU to abandon thoughts of cutting either Ospreys or Scarlets, then reassess its expenditure choices, turbo-charge its commercial department, plough money into development and fund the regions properly. Saying that, an Anglo-Welsh link-up would be a huge plus if it came about.
