The youngsters are still green so getting bashed up and down Welford Road will be character building - certainly did Leo no harm when he played there. If Henshaw if fit then I can see him coming in for Frawley with Ioane starting at 13, Frawley if fit on the bench. But it will be won in the forwards and this pack are still not there. Snyman will be a big loss with Ryan still suspended.

Top 50 Women's Rugby Players of 2025: Who made the cut? | RugbyPass

I’m new to watching rugby so I don’t even know half of these players, but the comments complaining there aren’t enough Brits and Canadians when the whole list is basically Roses, Ferns and (Maple Leafs?) is crazy. It’s like you all want your entire team to be the list. When I watched rugby this year I remember hearing these names generally during the matches I watched so there must be some truth to them being on the list for this year. Undeniably those 3 teams are the top competitors so it’s not surprising a lot of their players on the list but I think it’s a bit much to act like there is bias agains a team that is dominating the list. If the problem is a specific player missing then you’re probably right.

Mark Robinson has absolutely damaged New Zealand Rugby badly and for the long-term.

His decision to withdraw NZ franchises from Super Rugby in 2020 and create Super Rugby Aotearoa should have only been a short term solution to playing rugby during COVID.

Yeah… Robertson is neither Woodward nor, even less, Erasmus. He is light-years away from the South African head coach. Besides, I don’t think Erasmus ever gave up on-field duties to his assistants. Erasmus is a genius… Robertson seems like a poor technician. The difference is staggering.

Robertson will not be capable of managing other assistants. That won’t change anything about the problem. The problem comes from the head coach. Robertson needs to be fired; it’s the only viable solution for the All Blacks to get out of this rut.

Maybe even a 12 Test Match Ban inclusive of all games at any level below that. A message/deterrent had to be sent.

Having said that, I thought it was worthy of a career ending ban. With such an act of Foul Play with such force etc, no mitigation or character references should have come into the decision.

There is NOTHING wrong with a model with a head coach as overseer. Clive Woodward won a RWC being a director of rugbyin 2003. So did Rassie in 2023.

BUT if you are such a coach then you MUST choose exceptional assistant coaches for forwards, attack, and defence.

Agree with all that. I am hoping it settles to something fairer in the next year. It is extremely difficult for the defensive catcher as is, any slight error is often a knock on/knock on advantage and worse.

You do know that, despite the media’s ignorance, Scott Hansen was one of Jamie Joseph’s assistant coaches with Japan from 2020-2023 including the 2023 RWC. That is 4 years of international coaching experience.

Jason Ryan has now been All Blacks forward coach for 4 years.

Who are the contenders to replace Abby 'Wow' on England's wing?

There is of course the option of playing Helena Rowland or Emma Sing at Full back and moving ellie kildunne to the wing. Tough to replace Abby Dow-most years she has been a world XV player-england will be a weaker team without her as shes been such a great attacking threat for the team. Kildunne,Dow and meg jones are the 3 england backs that are hardest to replace as they have such individual skillsets and get into world XVs regularly

Our Investec Champions Cup team of the week

I think for the English teams to compete you either have to prioritise the Investec over the PREM (as Saints did after the bad start last year) or you need to get very lucky with injuries to see you across both competitions.

I think the Will Stuart injury was a bit of a blow, so will depend how many more they have between now and the 6 Nations.
