Scotland forced into two changes as Wallaroos visit Edinburgh

Scotland interim head coach Dave Butcher has made four changes to his starting XV for Australia’s visit to Edinburgh.

Two of these changes are enforced. A wrist injury has ruled second row Emma Wassell out for 10 weeks, meaning Sarah Bonar has been parachuted into the second row to partner Holland Bogan.

With Rachel Philipps out with concussion, Evie Wills is installed at centre to partner Meryl Smith. There is also a place for Hannah Ramsay who, after outings from the bench against Canada and New Zealand, starts at full-back ahead of Chloe Rollie.

Rachel McLachlan is named in the back-row alongside team captain Rachel Malcolm and No. 8 Evie Gallagher.

Elsewhere Ceitidh Ainsworth keeps her place at scrum-half to partner vice-captain Helen Nelson. The front-row is unchanged too, with Anne Young and Elliann Clarke named at prop, while hooker Lana Skeldon earns her 90th cap.

This weekend’s clash will be the first of three meetings between Scotland and the Wallaroos. In October the teams will meet Down Under two more teams. Both sides are on the lookout for their first wins of WXV Global Series 2026.
