Henry Pollock grabs the limelight as England claim record win over Australia

I know what you mean. It did feel like we should have our them away but first match with only a week together so all in all very positive. The Aussies were horrible though.

I certainly wouldn't be throwing away 114 caps of experience 1 year out from a world cup just because he's not as dynamic as he once was. Hooker is a hugely important position where a calm head under pressure counts for a lot in a tight test match.

Australia played so so sooo bad. I feel like Fiji would beat Aussies the way they played against France.

JVP showed again that he can do a solid job when he fights all of his natural instincts and tries to keep the tempo up. Very pleasing.

Great to see Slade getting some recognition, he does so much subtle work to create space for others. Flats is a big Slade fan so no surprise he got MOTM.

Yeah sorry man! I said after the Wallabies beat the Bok team that it was de javu! They beat the Boks at EP and went on to lose the next 6 on the trot! Same pattern! Must be so frustrating for a Wallaby supporter!

Henry Pollock grabs the limelight as England claim record win over Australia

Good performance as this was the first run out since the summer, but Australia seemed a bit “off” so i am torn between whether it was due to the physicality of our pack and defence or if they were just having a bad day / 5-10% off their game or a bit of both.

One swallow and all that, the acid test will be in two weeks against the AB’s but for the most part pretty happy with that.

He may do but a bit late in the cycle to build the experience and pressure set piece delivery for blamire/tuipolotu so barring injury he’ll be in the 2 or 16 jersey against the Aussies in the rwc qf. His set piece consistency and his leadership within the group means he’s a shoe in.

Australia aren’t good enough not to play their best team.

Meredith was poor, no real guile, poor meterage on kicks to touch, shouldn’t be starting, Ben D is better 10, they looked better almost straight after he came on.

I don’t know what the coaches and players expect when their miserable line speed in defence puts literally zero pressure on the opposition.

I mean, you only have to watch how the fast line speed from England totally choked our attack, to see what works.

Wallabies player ratings vs England | Nations Championship 2026

We were awful today - no excuses. The forwards rarely got over the advantage line and allowed England to dominate the breakdown and contact. Very frustrating to watch as an Australian supporter. LSL, who I’m a huge fan of, had a very average game. And leaving Bobby V on the pine really hurt us too. It’s pretty clear that for us to be competitive we need all hands on deck in our 8 and bench. That means BPA, Hooper have to be in the mix. And Williams who has been one of our best this year, and grafts hard all day, is just not a 6. Meredith continues the Australian tradition of putting blokes in the role who are not ready for test rugby. Tries hard but is just out of his depth, and it showed today. Donno should have started.

Jamie george just lacks the dynamism around the park now.

Earl continues to underperform at 8.

you don’t blood a 20year old fly-half against France or Ireland in Europe …. at least he had some proper training sessions and certainly will be ready in the years to come

That’s right, how England didn’t put at least 60 on us with our miserable line speed is a mystery.

A disastrous performance from Australia. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Australia play this poorly. They were completely outclassed by England, and the scoreline is flattering to Australia… judging by the way the game went, there should have been a 50-point difference.
