Roderick Solo back in All Blacks Sevens for circuit's American leg
The All Blacks Sevens have welcomed back Roderick Solo in the team’s travelling squad for March’s two stops on the SVNS circuit, Vancouver and New York.
The electric winger has been missing for the past two years due to injury, having burst onto the SVNS scene in 2022 with game-breaking performances seeing him quickly become one of the series’ most lethal attacking weapons.
Joey Taumateine is also back in black for the first time this season, with Perth debutant Michael Manson missing selection in the reshuffle. Meanwhile, in the women’s squad, Manaia Nuku has recovered from the ACL injury she suffered last year.
The Kiwi women were crowned New Zealand’s best sporting team at the recent Halberg Awards, and currently sit in 1st place on the SVNS Series ladder with three first-place finishes and one second-place finish over the first four stops of the season. The women own a four-point buffer over second-place Australia.
The men sit third, having placed first, third, fourth, and fifth over the Series to date. Eight points separate the All Blacks Sevens from the fourth-placed France, and equally, they sit eight points behind Fiji in pole position.
