Perth set for two-day SVNS festival with entertainment locked in
HSBC SVNS Series action returns to Australia’s West Coast for a third consecutive year on February 7 and 8, with Perth’s HBF Park hosting world-class rugby and entertainment during an unforgettable weekend.
Rugby Australia confirmed last November that the world’s premier rugby sevens circuit was coming back to Perth in February. Perth has hosted Australia’s leg of the SVNS Series since taking over from Sydney ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Australia’s women’s side brought an end to a seven-year title drought on home soil when they defeated New Zealand 28-26 in a thrilling decider 12 months ago, with rising star Heidi Dennis recognised with Player of the Final honours.
This season’s two-day event features the top eight teams in women’s and men’s sevens, split into two pools of four. The top two from each group will progress to the semi-finals, meaning every moment and match matters in the quest for title glory.
Musical acts Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir will help create the SVNS Perth festival party-like atmosphere, locked in to perform on Saturday. Furnace and the Fundamentals will bring their enthusiasm to the stage as they rock out on Sunday.
Sunshine is one of Melbourne’s most famous DJs and producers, with her music including soul moving house music and disco. The artist has been making music for more than two decades, which has been adored by dancefloor audiences.
Together with the Disco Faith Choir, the Melbourne-based group spread their deep love of disco and dance with others. Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir will help get the entertainment party started at SVNS Perth on Saturday, February 7.
Then on Sunday, attendees will get to see a band that is unlike anything they’ve seen before. Furnace and the Fundamentals have been described as musical chameleons, mixing an electric blend with some of the world’s most iconic songs.
They’ve entertained fans with performances at Super Rugby finals, the British & Australian F1 Grand Prix, New Year’s Eve celebrations in Sydney, Fringe Festivals in two different Australian cities, and many other high-profile events.
Attendees can move between areas to enjoy some world-class entertainment, with The Party Stage and The Beach Club among the places to be. The Beach Club will be the go-to spot to party with big screens, live DJ sets, food and beverage options, and a view of the warm-up field.
There will be food markets with a variety of options and live entertainment around HBF Park. SVNS Perth is ready to again showcase a weekend of elite rugby sevens and must-see entertainment in less than two weeks’ time.
