Last week some of biggest traditional rugby schools in New Zealand competed in the national u15 tournament, an annual event where teams from both islands converge for a week long festival of rugby. The skill level and talent on display is exactly what you would expect from New Zealand rugby, showcasing pure athleticism (speed, agility & power) with skills (offloads, stepping, rugby nous). The tournament provides a leading indication of which big name school is building towards New Zealand 1st XV supremacy in the coming years.
After a tightly contested week, Hamilton Boys High School & Christchurch Boys High school contested the final which saw the boys from the south come away with a tight 22-18 win. Hamilton Boys 1st XV also contested the national title game in the weekend, going down to Hastings Boys 25-17.
