“He has got an X-factor about him and asks questions of the opposition defence, so we look forward to seeing the continued growth in his game during his time with us.”

Callum Hancock said: “I’m really grateful for the couple of seasons I got to spend at Newcastle, learning loads from a great group of lads and all the coaches we’ve worked under.”

Connor Hancock added: “It has been a huge honour to represent Newcastle and be part of a really exciting period of change for the club.

“Callum and I have loved the whole experience, and we now have a big opportunity to return to our home county of Yorkshire when we start with Doncaster in the summer.”
