IRFU confirm remaining home venues for 2026 Six Nations
The Irish Rugby Football Union have confirmed all home venues for the 2026 Women’s Guinness Six Nations.
Next year Scott Bemand’s Ireland will play three games on home soil. In May it was confirmed that the side, who exited the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup to France in the quarter-final, will play their Six Nations finale against Scotland at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.
It has been announced that Galway’s Dexcom Stadium and Belfast’s Affidea Stadium will be the host venues for Ireland’s other home Championship matches next year.
The home of Connacht, Dexcom Stadium, is currently undergoing renovation and will officially re-open in January. Galway will host its first women’s Test match since April 2006 when Ireland beat Canada 15-8.
Belfast has regularly hosted women’s internationals and has hosted Ireland’s women four times in the past two years.
Much like England, Scotland and Wales, Ireland are looking to benefit from the phenomenal support the side received at this year’s Women’s Rugby World Cup.
Round 5’s clash with Scotland at the Aviva Stadium will showcase the first ever standalone women’s international at the home of Irish Rugby.
IRFU Head of Women’s Performance and Pathways, Gillian McDarby, said: “As we build towards 2026, today’s announcement of the three home venues for the Guinness Women’s Six Nations further underlines the IRFU’s sustained commitment to the expansion and development of the Women’s game in Ireland.
“We are determined to build on the groundswell of support the team received throughout their Women’s Rugby World Cup campaign last August and September.
“Confirmation that Galway, Belfast, and Dublin will host home matches in 2026 is an exciting development, ensuring the visibility of the team grows and there is accessibility to world class Women’s sport across all areas of the country.”
