Edwin Edogbo has been handed a contract extension by Munster that keeps him at the province until at least 2027.

The 23-year-old Ireland international has scored seven tries in 29 appearances for Munster to date and became the latest Academy graduate to make his Ireland debut in this year’s Six Nations.

After missing all of last season due to an Achilles injury, Edogbo made a welcome return to action against Edinburgh in October.

The 127kg lock started the win over Leinster at Croke Park the following week and has gone on to make 14 appearances for Munster so far this campaign, including his Champions Cup debut against Bath.

His impressive form earned Edogbo a call-up to the Ireland squad for the Six Nations and he made his Test debut against Italy in February, when he was sadly subjected to despicable online racist abuse.

Edogbo’s brother Seán made his Munster debut this season in a Player of the Match performance against Dragons and will be promoted from the Academy to the senior squad next season.
