'I know the road ahead won't be easy': Regan Grace
Luckless Wales winger Regan Grace is facing another extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a new Achilles injury.
The 29-year-old has informed his social media followers that the injury is ‘on the other side’ to the one that kept him out of the game for so long following his croiss-code move from rugby league in 2022.
Grace began his professional career in the 13-man game with St Helens, scoring almost 100 tries and winning three Grand Finals and a Challenge Cup before switching to rugby union.
Despite playing for four clubs since then (Racing 92, Bath, Cardiff and Sale Sharks), injuries have restricted him to just nine competitive appearances.
He also played one game for Wales in an uncapped match against Queensland Reds during the 2024 summer tour of Australia before injury struck again.
The latest setback comes just as his short-term contract with Sale was due to expire, leaving him without a club and facing an uncertain future.
“This is a tough one to process,” he posted.
“I’m still finding my feet mentally and figuring out what the next chapter looks like.
“I love rugby, I’d have walked away a long time ago if I didn’t, but I know the journey ahead won’t be easy.”
