Fiji have unveiled their opening squad for the 2025/2026 SVNS Series with head coach Osea Kolinisau backing newcomer Apete Narogo to shine on debut.

Narogo, 23, first turned heads at the 2025 Fiji Bitter Nahehevia 7s tournament where his performances helped SR Ubuntu to the title and caught the eye of Kolonisau.

Narogo has since floated around Fiji’s extended squad before a strong Ignite 7s campaign against New Zealand earlier this month saw him earn a maiden call-up for Dubai and Cape Town.

Predominantly a rover who can also play prop, Narogo told local reporters his maiden call-up to the Series was a “blessing”.

“Every Fijian boy’s dream is to wear the white jersey and represent the country,” Narogo told the Fiji Times.

The Fijian squad retains plenty of pace and power despite the off-season loss of Dream Team member and leading try scorer Joji Nasova, who joined the Fijian Drua on a two-year deal.

2025 Rookie of the Year nominee George Bose adds his lightning pace alongside returning pair Sakiusa Siqila and Waisea Nacuqu, while try-magnet Vuiviwa Nadulavo has unrivalled X-factor.

The Fijian squad also features Jeremaia Matana, Joseva Talacolo, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Ilikimi Torosi, Alusio Vakadranu, Terio Tamani, Pilipo Bukayaro, and Manueli Maisamoa.

Champions in Singapore and Dubai last season, the Fijians will look to replicate their desert antics when the Series kicks off in earnest on November 29.

However, they’ll face a difficult title defence in Dubai with pool fixtures against Argentina, South Africa and France to navigate before the finals.
