High-flying Crusaders winger extends contract until 2028
Crusaders and All Blacks XV winger Chay Fihaki has extended with his Super Rugby Pacific club for an extra two years, inking a new deal to the end of 2028.
Fihaki made his debut for the Christchurch-based Super Rugby Pacific franchise back in 2021, two years after first joining the academy as a prospect out of Sacred Heart College in Auckland.
Fihaki then went on to represent the New Zealand U20s, before becoming Crusaders 246 in 2021. He has now played over 50 games for the Crusaders and continues to showcase his exceptional talents throughout Super Rugby Pacific.
Despite likely receiving a number of offers overseas, the Auckland-born winger said it was an easy decision.
“I didn’t think twice about re-signing. This club has given me so much already and I’m stoked to lock in my future here,” Chay said.
“This club means so much to me and my family, it’s a special place.
“Playing with this group around me, and the great support from coaches and team management is a dream come true.”
Fihaki and the Crusaders will look to improve on their two wins, three losses record this weekend against Moana Pasifika in Auckland.
