Thunder start their new season on Saturday 20 December when Glasgow Warriors make the trip to Parc y Scarlets.

Back-row forward Jess Rogers has been named as vice-captain of a squad that boasts eight capped Wales internationals and plenty of capped age grade internationals.

Both Branwen Metcalfe and Seren Lockwood are named in the squad after they represented Wales at this year’s Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Ashley Beck, Brython Thunder head coach, said: “This is an exciting and new-look Brython Thunder squad for the new expanded Celtic Challenge.

“We are still a young squad and have added some real Test match experience to a core group of young players who know all about this competition.

“Seeing how quickly we gel as a squad will be key and we are expecting the standard of the Celtic Challenge to go up another level this season.
