Things aren’t getting any easier for Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend.

His side were humbled 34-7 by Wales at the Principality Stadium last weekend and now they’re without three players for their crunch game with France on Sunday.

Townsend will have to make at least one change to his starting line-up, with Sale winger Byron McGuigan absent due to a hamstring injury.

Second row Richie Gray, who missed the defeat to Wales, still hasn’t recovered from his calf injury.

The Toulouse player will hope to return in time for the Calcutta Cup match with England at BT Murrayfield.

Saracens Duncan Taylor is out with a head injury, but fellow-centre Alex Dunbar, who went off for a HIA in Glasgow Warriors Champions Cup win over Exeter,  is hopeful of being ready for this weekend.

Scotland name their team for the France game on Thursday.

Scotland’s have only beaten France twice in the Six Nations in 18 years, but they did so last time the sides met in Edinburgh, 29-18.
