Australia Sevens stars to make injury returns at Next Gen Sevens
Alysia Lefau-Fakaosilea and Demi Kennewell will make their long-awaited returns from injury in Next Gen Sevens this Sunday.
Ahead of the competition’s opening round in Lennox Head, Lefau-Fakaosilea returns from an ACL and shoulder injury, while Kennewell has recovered from the ruptured ACL she sustained at last year’s HSBC SVNS World Championship event in Los Angeles.
Lefau-Fakaosilea will turn out for the Reds, while Kennewell is in the Brumbies side.
There are a number of capped Australia Sevens representatives taking part this weekend. This includes Queensland’s Amahli Hala and Sidney Taylor, along with Rhani Hagan – who recently earned a contract with Tim Walsh’s side.
Kennewell is joined by Australia Sevens’ Mackenzie Davis and Ruby Nicholas. Piper Simons, Waiaria Ellis, Kiiahla Duff and Bridget Clark are all named in the Waratahs squad.
