It must be genuinely frustrating being an English fan, knowing the player pool and talent is there but stuck without a bonafide top tier coaching team. Have to wonder what might have been had Felix Jones stuck around. I’m intrigued to see what the next 12 months have in store in terms of personal joining the management team because Borthwick and co. need a hand.

Scotland and Ireland played with intensity and passion. They each turned up with a simple, positive game plan that cause England a world of problems.

Conversely England lack identity and look confused and overcoached.

Yeah, it should be a sport for all shapes and sizes but 70kg is iffy for a #15 at this level. Most of his injuries seem to be from taking routine contact

‘Ireland dominate’ - I must admit, it’s been a while since I last read that. Wonderful to see.

Usually Porter, Sheehan & Furlong would be nailed on when that was happening. Refreshing to see we are finding ways to work around the functions of a scrum

I think we have found out it’s Earl or Pollock (not both), so that is the decision at 8.

You then need either Tom Curry or Pepper on the park for the line out, which is where I get the T Curry, Underhill, Earl combo (that previously worked) and the Pepper (moves to 6 with Curry at 7) and Pollock replacing Earl is the better balance.

Slade is a superb rugby player who has been misused by England… but I agree, even though he's never really fit into the Eddie Jones / Borthwick systems, he still has a lot of caps without really setting the world alight. I do think people underrate him still though, he provides a lot of subtle touches and makes others look good. We've scored tried in situations where other 13s would have butchered it, that boy knows how to put a winger away. Very unlikely bringing him back is going to change England's fortunes so I agree let's bring in Ojomoh, he was superb against Argentina. As PMcD pointed out though I don't know why Slade is in the squad if they're not going to use him. He's not exactly a development prospect, he's a player for the here and now. Pick him or let him go play for Exeter.

I thought Fin Smith did a great job last year and was treated badly to lose his place in the Autumn, especially how Saints are playing and Sale are struggling in the league.

I thought it was a big call to play Ford but could accept it based on kicking strategy but thought it would limit us but as we have moved away from the kicking game to a running game, it’s an absolute no-brainer that F Smith & Furbank should be starting, who are the best at playing that game plan.
