A bid to lure Le Roux away from Wasps has failed - reports

The Bulls have failed to sign Springbok fullback Willie Le Roux from English club Wasps.

The Pretoria side were hoping to bring in Le Roux ahead of next year’s Super Rugby tournament. However, Blue Bulls Company high-performance manager Xander Janse van Rensburg told the Rapport newspaper that “Wasps will not release Willie from his contract”.

The Bulls have already brought in big names Duane Vermeulen and Schalk Brits ahead of next year’s Super Rugby tournament.

Meanwhile, the Bulls’ hopes of signing prop Maks van Dyk from Toulouse. were also dashed.

The 26-year-old Van Dyk, who previously played for Griquas and the Free State Cheetahs, decided to sign a one-year contract extension with the French club.

The Bulls recently named Pote Human as their head coach for Super Rugby following John Mitchell’s departure. The Bulls begin their Super Rugby campaign against the Stormers at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday, February 16.
