Leaguel Counsel Season Preview - Part 2

Last week we walked you through an audio orgy of the comings and goings of half of the NRL’s rosters in part one of our 2017 NRL season preview. This week in part two, we cover off the other eight teams, including a minor premier hope, the wooden spoon specials (spoiler alert it’s the Knights) and the godfathers of Reggae Football. We also touch on important issues such as have we seen peak Mannering? Who is the biggest stick man in the NRL and the modern day rookie and their choice of haircut.

Surely you have to play at least 50 NRL games before you can rock a real Rugby League haircut?

Now you can express yourself in the lower grades but when you hit the big stage, you better just pop down to your local Just Cutz and turn up to training with a fresh short back and sides.

The Knights Jaelen Feeney clearly hasn’t read the memo, as right from his entry into first grade he has chosen to opt for the now often seen bowl cut style that would be right at home in an episode of Peaky Blinders.

Once you have earned your stripes then, and only then can you can express yourself. We’re taking Clinton Toopi’s mowhawke circa 2005, Nathan Long’s flowing blonde mullet and Joey’s strawberry fields debacle in 98 as sure-fire hall of famers but when you want to talk the granddaddy of them all?  Take a moments silence and pour one out for this stunning masterpiece that shook up the shire in the late 90’s. I heard he actually took out a $1million insurance policy on that thing, or was that J-Lo and her booty? I forget.
