Zander Fagerson Bio

Born 19 January 1996, Zander Fagerson began playing rugby at a young age. However, he had a diverse and varied set of interests during his younger years. As well as playing rugby, he sang with NYCOS National Boys Choir in 2006 and he was the Scottish Youth Downhill Mountain Bike Champion in 2010.

But, Zander Fagerson opted to become a professional rugby player and he made his debut for Glasgow Warriors in 2014. He’s stayed with the Scottish club ever since and has now made more than 150 appearances for the team. In this time, he’s won both the Pro12 (2015) and the United Rugby Championship (2024).

From a young age, Zander Fagerson has also caught the attention of the Scotland setup. After representing his country at U16, U18 and U20 level, he made his debut for the first XV in 2016. Since, he's been capped more than 70 times.

Thanks to his successes for both Glasgow Warriors and Scotland, Zander Fagerson was selected in the 37-man squad for the 2021 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa. However, he did not make a test appearance on the tour.

Fagerson was once again called up to the British and Irish Lions squad in 2025. However, he sadly had to withdraw before the team left for Australia due to a calf injury.

Still only young and with his best years in the game still ahead of him, we can't wait to see what else Zander Fagerson can achieve in the game.
