Yeah for sure, it’s not something easy to prepare for. I think the team with the best record in rugby fell prey to the same drop in intensity from the QF to that Semi.

PMCD notes that the players had no excuses about being blown away. It’s not easy to understand whats going on when you’ve never experienced it before. A little why I didn’t understand why we were giving up in Wellington when only a try or two down.

My view is that DMac proved himself against Ireland in 24. BB has moments of briliance but has failed to get the best out of this team on attack and defence. And Hansen blinked.

The coaching conundrum part three: Time is running out for Australia and New Zealand

The Razor situation appears to be more off-field related than winning percentage.

The Wallabies situation is interesting with the recruit. It is difficult to compare to Sam Burgess in England, as Australia has over 25 years of experience converting players, and within Australia, Rugby and League are closer aligned than outsiders would realise. Time will be a challenge for the player to prove he is actually good enough to become automatic at the little details, but the basics of the game are nearly identical for a 12 and an NRL forward.

I also think Boks had an easier run to the final and England would have found it very difficult to get right back up to required level after such a good performance beating us.

If you think the NH domestic competitions aren’t making money you need to do some research.

I think you are only making sense to yourself though. Whether it’s 4 million a year or over 3 years, it makes no difference to johnz point it being wasted money if he’s not used. Either are amounts that would find the coach under pressure to explain the loss of.

the Silverlake deal was supposed to be similar but by buying part of a Union

Not really. They set up a separate commercial arm just for the deal.

“Ultimately, if you look at any sporting governing body, they are ALL ultimately asking the fans to pay and fund the sport.”

This is exactly what NZR has forgotten in recent years. They were so focused on a huge top-up to their bank account from the Silverlake deal and the delusion that they could conquer America, that they were blind to what really matters - the real fans.

Ah right, sounds like your now choosing 12, as your assumption has always been that he would be first choice 12 and 15 in the big games, and previously you had thought 15 was the position that need that specialist most.

I think you’re right and that he likely only play 15 if there is a better or like 12 option. He seems reluctant to play 15.

Certainly from my perspective the black ferns defense stood up this weekend, everyone knows they have the ability to score points but defense sometimes is the difference at the pointy end of the competition.

Whatever mate I bet you think the All Blacks are still the best team in the world last year. The All Blacks lost in Wellington because they were totally out played by the Springboks that is all that there is to it. Rassie named the team on the Monday he was not forced which was a bit of games-men ship. Sure doing whole sale changes is always a gamble but that is just the way Rassie roles. The All Blacks and the NZRU as stuck in the past and that is where they will stay unless different thinking from the top is applied.
