Gallagher PREM champions Bath have confirmed that England and British & Irish Lions tighthead Will Stuart has signed a two-year contract extension and will be at the Rec until the summer of 2028.

Stuart, who has made 105 appearances for Bath, clocked up his century in last season’s Premiership Final victory over Leicester Tigers at Twickenham before helping the Lions to a series win in Australia.

He joined Bath in 2019, making his debut against Worcester Warriors, and has since earned 53 England caps but is currently sidelined after rupturing an Achilles tendon against Munster in December.

Stuart, who is one of 25 players to have an England Elite Player contract, was a key player in Bath’s success last season and is targeting more success in the Blue, Black and White.

“I can’t really put into words the contrast from the 2021/22 season. Losing at Sixways in the last game of the season and confirming our place at the bottom of the table, to last summer.

“And the elation of turning the bus into Great Pulteney Street and seeing the roads swarming with fans. Pride doesn’t really do it justice. So, in light of that, who wouldn’t want to give it another crack?”

Bath’s Head of Rugby, Johann van Graan, says that he is looking forward to his “rock”, Stuart, who started his career with Wasps, becoming the cornerstone of not only his pack but the whole team in the next couple of years.

“It’s been amazing to have been on this journey for the last three and a half years with Stuey. He came into his own in 2025, shining for England and being a Lion.

“But most importantly, being a rock for us at Bath. We are looking forward to Stuey being one of the cornerstones of not only our pack but our whole team,” said Van Graan.
