Eagles supporter confirms financial contribution to USA Women
USA Rugby have announced that a supporter has pledged financial support to its USA Women’s Eagles programme in 2026.
Eagles supporter Brian Robinson and his family have committed to a contribution to supplement the USA Women’s Eagles match bonus structure.
It is a first of its kind contribution and has been partly driven by the XV Foundation.
This bonus structure helps secure additional stipends for the USA Women’s Eagles and will be allocated to players named for each Test match this year.
Bill Goren, USA Rugby CEO, said: “First and foremost, thank you Brian Robinson, his family and the XV Foundation for their direct support of the USA Women’s Eagles programme and players.
“We’re proud to have partners in the building structure of our national teams, who not only contribute to foundational growth, but join us in acknowledging match performance and player dedication.”
The North American union are hopeful to offer they players more financial support ahead of the 2029 and 2033 Women’s Rugby World Cups.
Ahead of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup, it was confirmed that the union had contracted their players full-time for a third of the year.
Brian Robinson said: “Rugby has been a constant thread in my life – from ten years on the pitch, to 15 years coaching at all levels, to now watching my son compete for a spot on the USA U20s.
“This sport has given me lifelong friendships, discipline, and purpose, and I’ve always believed in giving back to the community that gave me so much.
“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to support the USA Women’s Rugby’s mission to grow the game and provide stability for our Women’s Eagles.”
This year the Eagles are expected to play between 10 and 12 Test matches in the Pacific Four Series, a two-match tour of South Africa and in the WXV Global Series.
