Ever since the team played in their first test match in 1903, the All Blacks have been truly dominant. After all, the very next year, the team embarked on a 34-game tour of Europe and North America. During this time, they only suffered one defeat!
In the modern era of rugby, the New Zealand rugby team has been an unstoppable force. The team has won The Rugby Championship trophy 20 times and they’ve claimed three Rugby World Cups. On top of this, they’ve completed four Grand Slam tours of the Home Nations (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales).
New Zealand have been so dominant on the international stage that, since the World Rugby Rankings were introduced in 2003, the All Blacks have held the top spot for longer than all of the other nations combined. In fact, the majority of test-playing nations have never won a game against the All Blacks!
All Blacks Players
As you may expect, due to the results the New Zealand rugby team has achieved over the years, many former All Blacks players have been inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame. This includes both Jonah Lomu and Richie McCaw.
The current All Blacks squad is just as dominant and powerful as any previous versions of the team. Current All Blacks players you should look out for include Dane Coles, Sam Whitelock and Beauden Barrett.
