  • FULL TIME - Jaco Peyper blows his whistle for full time and this thrilling contest has ended in a draw!  The Sharks always looked to be a step ahead but the Waratahs kept finding ways of staying in the contest - in the end, it was a try in the dying minutes to the visitors and a stunning conversion from Bernard Foley that levelled the scores and that was the way it remained until the end.  With nothing separating the two sides on the scoreboard, the match ends with the scores deadlocked at 24-24.
    '
  • MISS!  Curwin Bosch attempts to seal victory for the home side with a drop goal attempt however his kick has faded out to the left.
    80''
  • The Waratahs have tied it up in Durban!  Outstanding interplay amongst the Waratahs' backs opens up the Sharks' defence before a bullet like pass to the left from Bryce Hegarty opens up the try line for Mitch Short.  With nerves of steel, Bernard Foley lands the conversion from out near the touch line to level the scores.

  • Frantic play from both sides approaching the final five minutes as the ball skips from one end of the field to the other.
    75''
  • The Sharks edge ahead once again!  A superbly executed chip and chase from Marius Louw who then releases Robert du Preez and, with just the try line ahead, the Sharks' fly-half leaves the defence in his wake on his way to the try line.

  • Another opportunity goes begging for the Sharks!  With the Waratahs' defence stretched out to the right, Tera Mtembu loses possession under pressure from Curtis Rona and the visitors are able to hack the loose ball away to safety.
    67''
  • Lukhanyo Am looks to float the ball over the top to Curwin Bosch out to the left however the pass misses the target and bounces over the touch line for a Waratahs' line out.
    66''
  • The tension is quickly building at Kings Park as we enter the final quarter - the Sharks have looked more dangerous with ball in hand however they have let themselves down with a number of handling errors at crucial moments.
    63''
  • MISS! The thumping penalty goal attempt from Curwin Bosch has the distance well covered however the accuracy is not quite there - scores remain level in Durban.
    62''
  • Penalty to the Sharks!  Maintaining their dominance up forward, the Sharks are awarded a penalty at scrum time - Curwin Bosch will line up the posts from inside his own territory.

    58''

    42''
  • SECOND HALF - Bernard Foley kicks off for the Waratahs to get the second half underway.
    41''
  • HALF TIME - A tight and tense first half comes to an end.  The Waratahs, with the wind at their backs, took an early lead but the Sharks were quick to hit back and thereafter looked the more likely of the two sides.  Nevertheless, there is nothing between the teams at half time on the scoreboard with the scores locked at 10-10.
    '
  • After a review of the tape, there is no compelling evidence that Tendai Mtawarira found the line and so the original decision of no try will stand.  The Sharks have a 5m scrum and a chance before the break to put their noses ahead.
    40''
  • TMO - After going close on a couple of occasions, Tendai Mtawarira tries to borrow under the defence in a desperate attempt to find the paint -  in amidst a tangle of bodies, referee Jaco Peyper has little option but to refer the decision upstairs.  The on-field decision is no try.
    39''

    27''
  • The Sharks elect to assert their dominance up forward by electing to pack down once again after winning a free kick at scrum time.
    26''
  • With the exception of the first try of the match, the Sharks have generally looked in control of this first half - the stats are showing that the home side have enjoyed 60% of possession so far.
    25''
  • An almost certain try to the Sharks goes begging with a spilled pass allowing Curtis Rona to effect the crucial intercept.
    23''

  • We are not far away from a start with both sides now making their way out onto the pitch.
    '
  • The Waratahs lost heavily in the same fixture in 2017 but their confidence will be high after recording a victory over the Stormers at home in their season opener.  Last week's match appeared destined for a draw until Ned Hanigan scored the winning try for the Waratahs in injury time.
    '
  • The Sharks will be itching to hit the pitch this afternoon coming off the bye after losing their opening round fixture against the Lions.  In week 1, the Sharks pushed last year's runners up all the way to the final whistle only to come up just short.

  • Week 3 of Super Rugby 2018 moves to Kings Park in Durban for the clash between the Sharks and the Waratahs.
