Adam Jones is a true star of Welsh rugby and was one of the modern era’s great props.

Adam Jones Bio

Adam Jones is a former Welsh prop who won the Six Nations Championship Grand Slam with Wales on three occasions. During his long and distinguished career, he also represented some of the world’s top domestic sides and was capped five times by the British and Irish Lions. Adam Jones was inducted into the RugbyPass Hall of Fame in 2021.

Adam Jones began his senior career with Neath in 2000. However, when the Welsh rugby system became regionalised in 2003, he joined the Ospreys. Early in his career, he was criticised for a lack of scrummaging power. However, he soon learned the intricacies of scrummaging and became one of the world’s greats. As a result, between 2003 and 2014, he represented the Ospreys 195 times. Then, after a contractual dispute, he left for a season with the Cardiff Blues before finally enjoying a spell with Harlequins, where he finished his career.

Although he enjoyed an elite domestic career, Adam Jones is undoubtedly best known for his time with the Welsh national team, which spanned from 2003 to 2014. During this time, he was capped by his country 95 times and won the Six Nations Grand Slam on three occasions.

Due to his stellar form for Wales, Adam Jones was also called into two British and Irish Lions squads (2009 and 2013). On these tours, he was capped five times and received a great deal of praise for his elite performances.

Since his playing career came to a close in 2018, Adam Jones has worked as a coach. He’s now the scrum coach at Harlequins, where he also enjoyed a player-coach role at the end of his playing days.
