Headline is a little bit clickbait for me and unnecessary and not quite the quote she said.She said she ‘genuinely believes we have’ which is slightly different. As an England fan you have to accept things can change very quickly in sport. England won the mens WC in 2003 and by the next year were not so great,never recovered and never got back to that sort of level. So while it could just be a small blip this autumn ,it could also be the start of the decline of this team. Right now Canada are the better side and I am pretty sure had we gone down to NZ this autumn we would likely have lost too. NZ could have kicked the ball out and got a draw at Twickenham,similar to Canada so no reason not to think they wouldnt at home have won. Usually England beat USA by 50 or 60 pts-but you suspect its going to be a lot closer this time.

Watching the game I was really sad for our Roses. Apart from a few handling errors, I just think Canada reacted quicker and faster in most instances. Roll on the next game ladies 🌹

Canterbury have played much better rugby over the latter part of the season and should have too many guns for a Northland side that has performed well this year. Don’t see Northland being allowed the latitude they were afforded last time and revenge for Canterbury is far more than likely than the biblical David succeeding again.

…and I don't think anyone has ever written off Fin Baxter as a mediocre talent! Before he got injured I thought he was better than Ellis Genge. It's hard to make that judgement now after such a long lay off but if he picks up where he left off then top 5 in the world wouldn't be a long way off.

Fin Baxter: 'I want to be the best in the world.'

I don't necessarily agree with this. Your advice is probably solid for general life happiness but for someone like Fin Baxter who wants to elevate his game then aiming to be the best is the only way he's going to get close. There are many sporting greats who were written off as having mediocre talent but reached the top through sheer will - it's the attraction principle. His career is short, why not aim for the top? He's probably got 40 years following his career to set more realistic goals.

a fair comment, as the French were the better side for large chunks of the game. The Ferns were guilty of the same issues as last week, losing the ball at the breakdown far to often to a side with more accomplished ball hunters, and compunding that with aimless tactical kicking. However the French were guilty of the same generosity, so the match stayed close until the Ferns starters came off the bench. As for BSM, she seems more assured every time she plays, like Jorja an absolute star.

The one sided reporting and analysis of Rugby Pass starts to be very annoying.

It seems there was only one team on the field. No article re the French players rating and absolutely no assessment of the French squad performance in this article. Are we living in a rugby world where only English speaking teams deserve to be considered? Wake up RP if you want to keep your readers…

Nations Championship referees confirmed with finals weekend appointments TBC

My point is the risk of appointing refs that might appear from a particular nation or culture even though the individuals may be accomplished. Which all of them are. WR is giving tier 2s a chance at the whistle here. SA has been a tier 1 forever. We've had highly skilled refs like André Watson, Jaco Peyper, Johnathan Kaplan whom I met. We lived in the same town. If WR can't identify a decent SA ref to officiate then maybe the problem lies with SARU. What about if referees could be substituted at half time to get ”gametime” Don't see that happening:-))) But Morné could blow the Japan/Wales game or Fiji/Italy… with respect to those teams. I'm not sure if the idea of referees gaining popularity is helping the game.

Why the Wallabies must mount a more convincing case for the defence

Yes - that comment was from half time.

No great surprise, we lacked creativity in attack, lost our scrum dominance when the bench came on and looked off the pace in the 2nd half. That’s how we have been the last 4 games but that’s 4 poor 2nd halves in the last 4 games, which suggests fitness and squad depth is an issue.
