Les clubs de Top 14 ont pour la plupart déjà quasiment bouclé leur recrutement pour la saison prochaine. Il reste néanmoins quelques bonnes affaires à saisir. En Pro D2, le puissant numéro 8 de Nevers Kevin Noah, pas épargné par les blessures cette saison, attire néanmoins les convoitises.

Un temps évoqué à La Rochelle, le joueur de 24 ans, formé à Massy, pourrait privilégier un environnement qu’il connait bien. Selon nos informations, Clermont, qu’il a fréquenté chez les jeunes de 2018 à 2021, tiendrait la corde pour le recruter.

Arrivé à l’USON en période COVID, Kévin Noah a joué 18 matchs dès sa première saison, à seulement 19 ans, participant même à une demi-finale de Pro D2 contre Mont-de-Marsan.

Nice one Brett. Wright has always done badly in Argentina - i remember a particularly bad night over there during rennie’s tenure where the ball seemed to be a cake of soap for him at the back. As you say, he is a confidence player and so maybe he just gets the yips over there (which is why I suggested rotating campbell in pre-tour).

My broader Q would be - has Wright had more rocks in his game this year, or less diamonds? I think less diamonds is understandable from the injury in that he may just not be confident in hitting his top speed or to blow through tackles quite like he used to and so may manage less line breaks, this is ok imo. BUT, his injury shouldn’t excuse him from more rocks in his game like dropped balls, mistimed passes, and unforced forearms to argentinian throats on half time. This is the worrying aspect imo and as someone who always had my reservations about him, and then was happily proven wrong, I’m not glad seeing them reappear. I think that Les should rotate in Campbell and Donno into 15 just to rest him and keep him mentally sharp and to see what its like with some different voices at the back (ie build injury depth for RWC). Neither of those two are the attacking threat wright is, but what the wbs might need more is another game manager, defensive communicator and link man given the inexperience likely at 10, and these other two may provide a horses for courses option there. I would rather anyone but suaalii at 15 for all the same reasons he has struggled at 13, too much thinking and learning on the trot rather than being on the wing with freedom.

The All Blacks are still stuck in the McCaw paradigm. To put it nicely, try and push the laws as far as you can and see if you can get away with it. Referees are no longer intimidated by the invisible black jersey.

That is the Rennie way. Push the boundaries of the laws round the ruck to the limit and beyond then try and play a tempo his players aren’t capable of for 80 minutes. He is trying to project his over inflated opinion of his own talents as a player, or trying to make up for his lack of them.

It was the same when he was coaching the Wallabies. He is simply out of his depth and like Joe Schmidt his methods are outdated and based on the past. Scott Robertson was trying to move NZ coaching forward but he was not given enough time and was a bit clumsy about it and paid the price to an impatient NZ public.

Yeah that would be a fair call too and don’t get me wrong NZ didn’t deserve it and I was wondering what the hell Rogiards doing at the time but is like saying all the time players are taking out behind the ruck, past the ruck, that all the defenders have to go back an extra meter or two. They never do though.

And combined with penalizing defenders for have fingers or a foot on the ground ahead of the offside line it’s all been a bit silly this series.

Yes both sets of coaches go on TV and talk about refereeing. It sounds like you've had a breakthrough! Is it OK that NZ coaches do this or is it just South Africa that allowed to do it? (This could be an important strep following your breakthrough - I’m really rooting for you!) Wait until you find out how much South Africans complain about the referee when you lose (and even when you win) You’re going to be shocked. Don’t worry I’ll be here to keep reminding you that South Africans respond to losing rugby games the same as everyone else - complaining about the referee.
