Le jeune ouvreur Valentin Delpy a prolongé avec le Stade Toulousain jusqu’en 2028 et a été prêté à Perpignan jusqu’à la fin de la saison de Top 14, ont annoncé les deux clubs le 17 février.

Le demi d’ouverture de 21 ans compte quatre rencontres avec le club champion de France, dont il est présenté comme un des grands espoirs.

Il rejoint l’USAP, handicapée au poste d’ouvreur par les absences sur blessures de l’Australien Jack McIntyre (genou) et d’Antoine Aucagne (fracture du pouce), et par l’indisponibilité de Tommaso Allan, retenu avec l’Italie pour le Tournoi des Six Nations.

Valentin Delpy a été titularisé à deux reprises par le coach des Rouge et Noir Ugo Mola depuis le début de l’année. Il portait le N.10 dimanche soir lors de la victoire toulousaine à Clermont-Ferrand (35-18).

Il pourrait figurer dans le groupe de l’USAP (10e, 30 pts) qui affronte la Section Paloise au Hameau samedi prochain (16h30) lors de la 17e journée de Top 14.

Sorry Miz… There is no way the UK comps are stronger. JB has stood out in a weaker comp. Big time! Yep there are some good teams but the winning margins of some matches is somewhat embarrassing to the two comps Leinster play in.

Its not about “making everyone happy” its about contracts. LF HAS to play for a team in NZ before he can be selected for the ABS. JB doesnt because he is contracted already. Basically I dont see LF being in the squad to play France as he wont have played. Bet anything you like that Razor has him around the squad tho. Also he played plenty of 13 for the Saders didnt he? I remember watching him play 13, just not sure how often.

Well the Red Roses have won 2 WCs. NZ has won 6. Beating England in 5 finals. Ill back NZR to pick the best available and the headlines are BS as she hasnt retired. She played last week and was looking at signing another contract. She is 33 and the best womens rugby player the world has seen. If a team like England dont want that sort of generational talent around their team thats a real indicator of why they dont win many world cups. I agree. Cullen Grace does , ( as good blindsides should (, the unglamorous jobs. Clean outs etc. I agree as well that blindside is his best position. Crusader great Reuben Thorne did similar work.He got a lot of flak from outside of CHCH. But we loved him. We need some one at 6 doing those things. I agree too about Finau, last year I thought not much of him. But he has played well this year.

No it’s just one that’s been repeated a lot tin the past, heading out of amateurism, hunting rugby players back from league. SBW , the other way around with mens sevens, revolved around a lot of the discussions.

It comes down to NZR simply not having the funds to do it for those tournaments. Should they therefor not do it at all? You’re langauge is not really one of feeling sorry for the players in question, it was more criticism of NZR. If I have that back the front then aplogogies, it’s certainly a situtation why don’t want to repeat or have to rely on much further into the futuyre. Hopefully they can get it right, better integration and specific pathway development/recognition.
