Swann Rebbadj prolonge à Toulon

Le deuxième ligne international français Swann Rebbadj a prolongé son contrat avec le Rugby Club Toulonnais.

Formé au RCT, Rebbadj, 30 ans et 3 sélections avec le XV de France, compte aujourd’hui 156 matchs professionnels avec le club de la Rade et y est lié jusqu’en juin 2028.

« Je suis fier et honoré de poursuivre mon histoire avec le RCT. Ce club est ma maison. Je donnerai tout pour continuer à porter haut les couleurs du club et de notre région », a déclaré le joueur, arrivé en 2012 et passé pro en 2017, sur le site officiel du club.

Laurent Emmanuelli, directeur sportif du RCT, ajoute : « Swan est un joueur exemplaire. Issu de la Région, il a porté ce maillot avec fierté dans les bons comme dans les moments plus difficiles. Le voir continuer l’aventure au RCT est une réelle satisfaction. »

Pour rappel, cette prolongation de contrat fait suite à celles de Matthias Halagahu et Mathieu Smaïli jusqu’en 2027, deux prolongations annoncées plus tôt cette semaine.

The Crusaders backline was toothless throughout this game and particularly so in the second half as the whole team tired and collapsed under Chiefs pressure. Forward effort was also poor as a huge amount of possession was conceded far too easily. Not the first time the Crusaders have lost the possession stats to their opposition.

I don’t think there would be much debate around Roigard and Ratima being 1 and 2. I like Preston as 3rd option. He looks to have much better kicking game than Hotham who will probably get selected as they have been grooming him.

Positive news that Will Jordan will play before the end of Super Rugby. He has been brilliant this year for the Crusaders and has brought a huge leadership role to the team. He left a gaping hole when he went off injured on Saturday night against the Chiefs. I am confident the team will bounce back. Some one like Johnny McNicoll, ( who played well last year),can do the job in the mean time.

Justin Marshall is one of the most astute rugby analysts. I agree with what he says about Crusaders halfback Kyle Preston. His kicking off both feet make him quite the weapon. His debut off the bench a few minutes in to round one against the Hurricanes, when he scored 3 tries, was memorable. I thought he should have come on earlier on Saturday night. I hope he starts against the Warratahs.He could be a bolter in the All Blacks.
