L’arrière de Toulon Melvyn Jaminet, sorti sur une civière samedi après un choc à la tête lors du match contre Vannes, « va bien » a assuré son entraîneur Pierre Mignoni après la rencontre.

« Melvyn Jaminet va bien (…) il était avec nous dans les vestiaires à la fin du match », a déclaré le directeur du rugby du RC Toulon en conférence de presse après la défaite contre Vannes (29-19).

À la 48e minute, Jaminet est resté de longtemps au sol, KO après avoir reçu un coup de genou involontaire de son coéquipier Swan Rebbadj. Après avoir perdu connaissance, selon son entraîneur, Jaminet a été évacué sur une civière sous les applaudissements du public, levant le pouce pour rassurer.

Depuis son retour de six mois de suspension pour des propos racistes fin février, Jaminet a disputé huit matchs avec Toulon, le buteur marquant au total 100 points.

I don’t think there would be much debate around Roigard and Ratima being 1 and 2. I like Preston as 3rd option. He looks to have much better kicking game than Hotham who will probably get selected as they have been grooming him.

Crusaders provide update on Will Jordan’s concerning knee injury

Positive news that Will Jordan will play before the end of Super Rugby. He has been brilliant this year for the Crusaders and has brought a huge leadership role to the team. He left a gaping hole when he went off injured on Saturday night against the Chiefs. I am confident the team will bounce back. Some one like Johnny McNicoll, ( who played well last year),can do the job in the mean time.

Justin Marshall is one of the most astute rugby analysts. I agree with what he says about Crusaders halfback Kyle Preston. His kicking off both feet make him quite the weapon. His debut off the bench a few minutes in to round one against the Hurricanes, when he scored 3 tries, was memorable. I thought he should have come on earlier on Saturday night. I hope he starts against the Warratahs.He could be a bolter in the All Blacks.

Let’s be fair. John Hart picked him then dropped him. Wayne Smith also picked him then dropped him. Great as he was at Super/NPC level he was never that guy at test level. He initially missed out to Ian Jones, Robin Brooke and Royce Willis then later Troy Flavell, Norm Maxwell and Chris Jack. Was he better than any of those guys? Even at six Michael Jones, Andrew Bowers then Reuben Thorne funnily enough.
