Anthony Watson

Known for his electric pace and prolific try scoring, Anthony Watson is one of England Rugby’s brightest stars and one of the finest players to ever represent Bath.

Born on 26 February 1994, Anthony Watson began playing rugby during his school years and was vice-captain of St George’s College in Weybridge. In 2011, he signed for London Irish and became the youngest player to ever feature for the club. However, his impressive play quickly caught the attention of some of the country’s biggest clubs, and he moved to Bath in 2013 alongside fellow academy graduate David Sisi.

Anthony Watson has played for Bath ever since and has now featured more than 100 times for the club. During this period, he’s finished as a runner-up in the Premiership, the European Rugby Challenge Cup and the Premiership Rugby Cup.

Thanks to his performances for Bath, Anthony Watson quickly caught the attention of the national side. At the age of 19, he was called to train with the full England team and he made his debut for the international side in 2014. Since, he’s been capped 50 times for his country and has featured in two Rugby World Cups. 

On top of this, Anthony Watson  was also a star performer for the British and Irish Lions on their tour of New Zealand in 2017. Thanks to his performances on tour and since, he’s also been called up to the squad for the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa in 2021. 

Still only young, Anthony Watson has many of his best years ahead of him. We can’t wait to see what else he can achieve for Bath, England and the British and Irish Lions.
