  • FULL TIME; WARATAHS 0, LIONS 29 - It's all over at Allianz Stadium and this one hasn't gone to script for the NSW Waratahs. With the hosts coming off a four-game winning streak, they looked anything but conference leaders with handling errors and non-cohesive attack blotting their evening. For the Lions, they looked mighty impressive at scrum time and played smarter in attack on their way to a comprehensive 29 point win in Sydney.
    '
  • Absolutely no issues for Jantjies this time around as from 23 metres out, and just to the right of the posts, he pumps through the final points of the night. This has been a pretty comprehensive second half showing from the visitors. NSW will glady welcome the upcoming bye.

CONVERSION LIONS! (Elton Jantjies). WARATAHS 0, LIONS 29.
    76''
  • Schoeman will remember this night for quite some time as he drives powerfully towards the line from 15 metres out. With a full head of steam, Schoeman fends off three defenders before falling over the chalk for his first five-pointer in Super Rugby.

  • Try
TRY LIONS! (Marnus Schoeman). WARATAHS 0, LIONS 27.
    72''
  • Early engagement in the scrum from the 'Tahs is just the latest in a line of penalties they've conceded in the last few minutes. Not wanting to compete another scrum, the visitors elect for a shot at three. Jantjies holds up his end of the bargain as he bangs it home from 34 metres out.

PENALTY GOAL LIONS! (Elton Jantjies). WARATAHS 0, LIONS 22.
    63''
  • No issues this time around for Jantjies as he sets up 10m inside the right sideline. Starting this one out to the left, it hooks back perfectly to split the middle. NSW are in all kinds of trouble as they try and chase down a 19-point defecit with 20 minutes remaining in Sydney.

CONVERSION LIONS! (Elton Jantjies). WARATAHS 0, LIONS 19.
    57''
  • It's all the Lions at Allianz as they shift the ball quickly to their right side off the back of an attacking scrum. With the 'Tahs line slow to move, an intended ball for Mapoe is left behind before Vorster takes the scraps and races in from 21 metres out. Worrying for NSW.

TRY LIONS! (Harold Vorster). WARATAHS 0, LIONS 17.
    53''
  • Whilst replays of Smith's 'try' are shown on the big screens, Jantjies lines up his second conversion attempt from 10m inside the left sideline. Pushed out to the near side, the ball never comes fades back to find the middle. For what it's worth, Smith looked to have knocked on his attempt to find the chalk.

CONVERSION MISSED LIONS! (Elton Janjies). WARATAHS 0, LIONS 12.
    49''
  • First blood of the second stanza to the Lions as the visitors feign to set up a square drive from the line-out. With Smith reading the late movement, he takes the ball under his wing and sees Kepu falling off his intended tackle as he rolls over the chalk from 14m out.

  • HALF TIME; WARATAHS 0, LIONS 7 - We're done for the first half at Allianz Stadium and this one has definitely been a dour affair. With the Waratahs perhaps a little guilty of trying too much with ball in hand, they've coughed up more possession then they'd like to see. With the Lions striking on the counter, it's a narrow seven-point lead that the visitors hold at the interval.
    '
  • Another chance butchered for the Waratahs as Beale slices and dices before linking up with Hooper. With the latter popping a ball back on the inside, he finds Newsome. Alas for the hosts, Newsome tries to push a pass that isn't there and knocks on with the tryline in sight 23 metres out.
    39''
  • Still too many mistakes coming from the Waratahs as Naiyaravoro tries to get himself into space. Charging onto a short ball from 17 metres outside the Lions line, Naiyaravoro's handling skills evade him as he knocks on deep inside the visitors attacking half.
    36''
  • Dodging and weaving is Beale as NSW still look for their first point of the encounter. With his slalom-like run, the ball eventually finds Kepu before he gets tangled up and runs behind the attacking run of Staniforth. Penalty to the Lions in prime field position for the Waratahs.
    33''
  • Still the hosts can't get it right when with their attack as Foley works in conjunction with Beale. With the latter looking to put his foot down to angle towards the right, he sadly forgets to take the ball cleanly and knocks on 14 metres out. Wasteful.
    30''
  • Lions are in a rush here as Jantjies wastes no time in setting up his conversion attempt. From right in front, Jantjies threads it over and surprisingly, the visitors snare a seven-point lead with 27 minutes played in Sydney. Waratahs need to be a little cleaner with the ball here..

  • Conversion
CONVERSION LIONS! (Elton Jantjies). WARATAHS 0, LIONS 7.
    25''
  • Fantastic play from the Lions as Smit tries his luck with a box kick. With the ball sitting up, it's Combrinck who reads the drop before juggling the regather. With numbers set out to their left, a quick push of the ball sees Tambwe receiving in order to charge over out wide.
    23''
  • Try
TRY LIONS! (Madosh Tambwe). WARATAHS 0, LIONS 7.
    21''
  • Mapoe is calling havoc no matter what he's doing as he now turns in hitting the defensive line. Up early to try and wrap him up is Foley who cops a stray elbow to the head and is in a bit of trouble. He eventually finds his feet and trots down the tunnel for a HIA.
    18''
  • Nice enterprise from the Lions as Smith angles towards the left sideline before chipping over the defensive line. Despite how quick Tambwe is, he can't reel the ball in in time as it trickles out just short of the visitors 22m line. Very dout start to affairs with the 'Tahs dominating everywhere but the scoreboard.
    16''
  • Mapoe gets a fortunate break here as Hegarty rises steeply to take in a midfield clearing kick. Without returning to his feet, Mapoe is too eager in the tackle and takes the 'Tahs fullback mid-air. Mapoe's immediately apologetic for his effort; Hegarty's uninjured too.
    13''
  • When it comes to scoring tries in the opening 20 minutes of games this year, the Lions lead the competition with 12 five-pointers scored. NSW on the other hand don't hold the worst record with the hosts racking up five of their own in this space.
    10''
  • Poor handling starting to hurt the Waratahs as they again get into a great field position and start to press the Lions line. With Beale finding Rona with an inside ball, the latter takes a quick look at the advancing defensive line and puts it down eight metres out.
    8''
  • NSW go close to opening the account for the evening as they put it through the hands down their right side. With Hooper receiving and charging hard and straight from 11 metres out, he's flung into touch before his offload can find Newsome in support. Nice intent regardless.
    6''
  • The 'Tahs get away with one as the Lions scrum is penalised for collapsing the maul on their 22. It's Dreyer who sees himself penalised for starting the effort as the hosts head towards the sideline and find out through Foley.
    4''
  • Great opportunity for the Lions to go straight into attack within the first two minutes as Gordon knocks on in trying to retrieve a clearing kick. It's the Lions with the scrum on their 22 and a chance to trouble the fringes..
    3''
  • Underway in Sydney...
    1''
  • Welcome to Allianz Stadium for Round 10 Super Rugby action as the NSW Waratahs play host to the Lions. Coming off a four-game winning streak, the 'Tahs will be looking to keep their momentum going against a Lions side which has never won in Sydney.
